Forecasting rules
Tell pure bont how to map deal stages, probabilities and signals onto forecast categories — the engine behind every Commit / Best Case roll-up.
Forecasting rules are the configuration that turns raw deal data into Commit / Best Case / Pipeline / Omitted categories. Without rules, every deal would need a manual category. With them, pure bont assigns a default category based on the stage + probability + signal mix you define.

What's on the page
- Rule list — one row per rule, ordered by priority. Earlier rules win.
- + New rule — opens a rule editor.
Defining a rule
Each rule has three parts:
- Match — conditions on the deal (stage, probability, owner, segment).
- Category — which forecast category to assign when the match hits.
- Override window — whether the rule overrides manual rep adjustments (rare; usually rules are the default and reps override).
Two motions, two rule sets
New business and existing business roll up under different rule sets — the editor's first selector chooses which motion you're configuring. Mixing rules across motions is a common cause of forecast disagreements; keep them separate.
