System requirements and supported browsers

What you need to run bont reliably — supported browsers, OS expectations, screen size, network and accessibility notes.

Supported browsers

bont supports the latest two stable releases of:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari on macOS 14+ and iPadOS 16+
  • Brave, Arc, Vivaldi and other Chromium-based browsers generally work because they share Chrome's engine.

Older versions and Internet Explorer are not supported.

Operating systems

  • Desktop — Windows 11+, macOS 14+, recent mainstream Linux distributions.
  • Mobile — iOS 16+ and Android 11+ via the browser; bont's UI is responsive but optimised for desktop.

Screen size

bont is built for screens 1280×800 and above. Kanban boards, deal sheets and reporting dashboards have side-by-side layouts that get cramped on phones — use a tablet or laptop when possible.

Network

  • Stable broadband (5 Mbps+) is fine. bont keeps payloads small but real-time updates over websockets work better on stable connections.
  • Corporate firewalls must allow outbound HTTPS to app.bont.ai, the bont CDN (cdn.bont.ai) and the bont data service (data.bont.ai). The cleanest ask for IT is to whitelist *.bont.ai in one entry rather than juggle individual subdomains as we add new services.
  • If you use Slack or Microsoft Teams integration, your firewall should also allow those providers.

Cookies and storage

bont uses cookies to keep you signed in and localStorage to remember preferences (locale, UI state). Strict private-browsing modes and aggressive third-party-cookie blockers can sign you out repeatedly — allow first-party cookies for app.bont.ai.

Accessibility

bont aims for WCAG 2.1 AA. Keyboard navigation works across the app, dialogs trap focus, colour-contrast meets AA thresholds. If you find an accessibility regression, email support@bont.ai.
