Adjusting a deal's forecast category
Override a deal's automated forecast category from the deal sheet — commit, best case, pipeline, omitted.
pure bont assigns each deal a forecast category based on the configured Forecasting rules. The category groups deals into roll-ups that managers report against. When a rep knows better than the rule (a deal is more or less certain than its stage implies), they override.
The categories
- Commit — highest confidence; counts in the committed forecast number.
- Best Case — likely but not certain; rolls up in the best-case forecast.
- Pipeline — open opportunity, not yet committable.
- Omitted — excluded from the forecast entirely (e.g. on-hold).
Changing the category
Open the deal sheet (see Opening the deal sheet). In the Deal & Products card, click the Forecast category field. Pick a new value from the dropdown. The change applies immediately to all forecast roll-ups.
Overrides survive subsequent stage changes — once a rep has committed, the deal stays in Commit even if the stage rule would push it back. To revert to automatic, pick the "Auto" option from the same dropdown.
Why managers care
Forecast roll-ups in Forecast Revenues read these categories directly. A rep moving a deal from Best Case to Commit is publicly raising their hand on it — reviews focus on the deltas.
