Lead research signals
Signals are time-bound trigger events on a lead — funding, a new job, a research paper — that pitch bont turns into warm openers and research filters.
A signal is a time-bound trigger event attached to a lead — a contact or a company. Where enrichment fills in profile fields (email, title, firmographics), a signal is a dated event you can open a conversation with: a funding round, a new job, a promotion. pitch bont surfaces the most relevant recent one as a warm opener in your outreach copy.
Signal types
- Recent funding round, Large funding round and Hypergrowth — company-level growth events.
- Recently started a new job, Recently promoted and Recently left a job — contact-level career moves.
- Published research paper and Industry–university research collaboration — from the OpenAlex add-on (see below).
Each signal carries a date and a source link, so you can verify it before you reference it.
Where signals appear
On the lead-list research results table, signals show as badges in the Signals column — up to three, then a +N for the rest. Hover a badge to see the signal date and a link back to its source.
How signals improve messaging
When pitch bont generates outreach copy, it automatically references the most relevant recent signal as a warm opener. Research-paper and collaboration signals count within about 365 days; the others within about 90 days, so the opener always stays current.
Using signals as research filters
When you configure a research list you can pick signals as filters. A signal can either require a match — only leads with that signal are imported — or simply flag matching leads while still importing the rest. Note that research that uses signals can't be resumed later, so let it finish in one run.
Research-paper signals (add-on)
The OpenAlex research-paper and industry–university collaboration signals are a paid add-on and stay hidden until they're enabled for your account. To turn them on, contact bont support.
