Setting your notification preferences
Notifications in bont are workflow-driven and configured per-app in pure bont and pitch bont — connect a channel and define which workflows fire.
Notifications in bont aren't a single on/off toggle. They're defined as workflows scoped to each app that produces them — today that's pure bont and pitch bont. base bont and funky bont don't have a dedicated notification surface. This page lives in the workspace's app settings, so any admin can tune it for the whole team.
Step 1 · Open the app's notifications settings
Switch to pure bont or pitch bont. Open Settings → App Settings → Workflows & Notifications. Each app remembers its own setup; pure bont and pitch bont don't share configuration.
Step 2 · Connect a channel
At the top of the page, pick how notifications leave bont. Today there are two options:
- Slack — click Connect Slack, approve the workspace in the OAuth pop-up, and pick the channel bont should post to.
- Microsoft Teams — same flow under the Microsoft Teams sub-tab.
Notifications sent in-app always appear in your personal notifications feed regardless of whether Slack or Teams is wired up.
Step 3 · Define a workflow
Workflows decide what events trigger a notification. The two presets are:
- Create Deals Workflow — fires on changes to new-business deals (stage moves, new owners, value updates, stagnation, etc.).
- Create Existing Accounts Workflow — same shape, but for the existing-business pipeline.
Click one to open the builder. Pick trigger conditions, the audience that receives the notification and the channels (in-app, Slack, Teams). Save. The workflow shows up in the table below with a count of trigger conditions and an Actions menu (edit, duplicate, delete).
Troubleshooting
I don't see Workflows & Notifications in Settings
The page is admin- and owner-only. Members don't see it. Workflow setup is per-app — if you're in base bont or funky bont, switch to pure bont or pitch bont first.
Slack stopped delivering
Re-open Workflows & Notifications. If the Slack card says Reconnect, the workspace token expired — click it and re-approve.
Why didn't I get a workflow's notification?
- Confirm the workflow's audience includes you (or your team).
- Confirm the trigger condition actually fired — open the underlying deal/account and check the change history.
- If the workflow uses Slack, confirm the Slack card is Connected.
