Deals or contacts are missing or duplicated

Why records disappear, multiply, or get into the wrong owner — and how to clean them up.

Missing records

  • Archived, not deleted — toggle Show archived on the Contacts / Companies list. Most "missing" records turn out to be archived. Restore from the profile.
  • Filtered out — pipeline filters, segment filters and "Show only my deals" toggles routinely hide records that are still there. Reset the filters and re-search.
  • CRM-side filter — the connecting CRM may exclude certain object types from sync. Check the CRM admin view.

Duplicate records

  • Same person, different emails — two contact records can co-exist when the same person uses a work and a personal address. Merge them from the profile (Edit → Merge).
  • Same company, different domains — bont keys companies by domain. Acme.com and Acme.io look like two companies. Merge via the company profile.
  • Bulk import created duplicates — a CSV upload that didn't dedupe against an existing record. Use bulk-merge from the affected list.

Wrong owner

Inline-edit the Owner field on the contact, company or deal profile. The change writes back to the CRM on the next sync.

Still wrong

Email support@bont.ai with the record IDs.
