Deals or contacts are missing or duplicated
Find records hidden by filters or archiving, merge duplicate contacts, companies or deals, and correct ownership.
Missing records
- Archived, not deleted — switch the relevant list to its archived view. Restore the record from its profile.
- Filtered out — reset pipeline, segment, owner and “only mine” filters, then search again.
- Not synced — check whether the source CRM excludes the object or whether its connection has an error.
Merge duplicate records
base bont can merge two records of the same type: contact with contact, company with company, or deal with deal. Merging is permanent, so check both records before confirming.
- Open the contact, company or deal that you want to keep or compare.
- Choose Merge in the page header.
- Search for and select the duplicate. Enter at least two characters if no suggestions appear.
- Compare their standard and custom fields.
- Select which record will be the primary record.
- Confirm the merge.
bont keeps the primary record and moves linked information from the secondary record, including relations used by activities and other CRM objects. After completion, bont opens the primary record. There is no bulk merge from a list.
Common duplicate causes
- Same person, different emails — compare both contacts and choose the better-maintained record as primary.
- Same company, different domains — confirm that the companies really represent one organisation before merging.
- Repeated imports — resolve the import or CRM deduplication rule before merging, otherwise duplicates may return.
Wrong owner
Edit the Owner field on the contact, company or deal. Where CRM sync-back is enabled, the change is written back on sync.
Still wrong
Contact support@bont.ai with the URLs or IDs of both records and the connected CRM provider.
