Step-by-step guide to a quick and easy Mixpanel integration

1. Navigate to Your Integrations Page

  1. Click the ā€œSettingsā€ āš™ļø icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Select ā€œIntegrationsā€ from the menu.

  3. Click the Mixpanel card to open the configuration form.


2. Gather Your Mixpanel Credentials

Before you begin, you’ll need:

  • Service Account Username šŸ‘¤

  • Service Account Password šŸ”’

  • Project Identifier (Token) šŸ”‘

  • Server Region 🌐 (US / EU)

Where to find these in Mixpanel:

  1. Log into your Mixpanel project.

  2. Go to Project Settings > Access Keys.

  3. Copy your Service Account credentials.

  4. Note down your Project Token.

  5. Check the API Host region (e.g. api.mixpanel.com for US, api-eu.mixpanel.com for EU).


3. Fill in the Mixpanel Form

In bont’s Configure Integration panel, enter:

  • Service account username: Paste your Mixpanel service account user.

  • Service account password: Paste your Mixpanel service account secret.

  • Project Identifier: Your Mixpanel project token.

  • Select server: Choose the correct API host region (US / EU).

āš ļø Tip: If you’re not sure which server to pick, match it to your Mixpanel data residency (found under Mixpanel > Project Settings).


4. Save & Verify šŸš€

  • Click ā€œSaveā€ to store your settings.

  • bont will attempt a test connection—if successful, you’ll see a confirmation and the toggle will switch to on!

  • If there’s an error, double-check your credentials and server selection.

  • Regenerate Keys: If Mixpanel credentials change, revisit your Mixpanel Access Keys page and update bont.

  • Test Events: Create a dummy event in Mixpanel and confirm it appears in bont’s activity stream.

  • Rate Limits: Mixpanel enforces API rate limits—ensure your export volume stays within your plan’s quota.
